Built in the taiga.

Named after the forest that works through winter.

01 The forest

The taiga is the largest forest on earth. In summer it grows around the clock.

In winter it works at minus forty, under the snow, without an audience.

02 The myth

The Finnish epic tells of the Sampo. The smith Ilmarinen forged a mill that produced on its own, day and night, for whoever held it.

The first machine in our literature is a factory.

In the epic, the Sampo is eventually fought over and shattered into the sea, where even the fragments made the water rich. We plan to skip that chapter.

03 The habit

Finland has been forging quiet machines ever since. Linux. SSH. IRC. Git.

Infrastructure that runs the world and never raised its voice.

04 The company

Ten years ago everyone was selling cloud projects, and developers got root access along the way. We were the ones who showed up with landing zones and governance, taming the cloud cowboys before the auditors arrived. Today the AI cowboys are pushing code past the ISMS from left and right. Same game, and we know how it ends.

The software can build software now, and somebody has to make that safe enough for a bank.

05 The point

So we named the machine after the forest.

It does not announce spring. It just arrives.

How we operate

One rule covers most of it: no receipt, no claim. Every number here carries a marker, and the marker opens the source. When a claim stops being true, it comes off the site, and the removal is logged.

The same goes for the product: we publish what is built and what is planned, and keep the two lists separate.

Every claim, sourced
